Spells

There are 6 elements of arcane magic: Light, Dark, Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water. Casters design a spell to their liking with gm discretion. The spell starts off weak, as in 1 Will Power. They can augment the spell to extend duration or damage. Spells come in small, medium, and large i.e. +1, +2, +3.


To make any spell function needs to pass a DC Concetration check to perform. You dont need a Spell book. You just need the concentration and a focus item to make the spell work. The DC starts with a base of 5 and using the tables below inscreases the Will poer output as well as increases the difficulty.

There are 4 Elements to any spell; Range, Duration, Targets, and Damage (This is inflicting or healing).

Range is used to see how far the spell affects. If the player wants to sense something and the distance is not known the GM should keep the DC a secret and just tells wether or the the spell succeeds.

Duration is used to determine how long the spell lasts.

Target is divided into three types depenting on what the player wants to accomplish with the spell; Subjects, Area, and Mass.
- Subjects is when a player wants to affect something living (YES, casting a fireball affects subjects).
- Area is used when wanting to affect some area (like a building, but not people).
- Mass is used when a player is wanting to move something, which has mass (that means anything).
All of these (or none of these) may be used at the same time. If you want to raise a house into the air, all of these are used.
- Damage is used when inflicting or healing physical damage.

Extra Will can be spent to overcome the difficulty at a rate of 1 per 2. So if a player adds an additional 1 point of will they get a +2 to make the spell check.

Result: If the spell fails, nothing happens. Will is waisted. But if the spell was successful then the desired affect takes place.
