"A generally ceremonial item, the neckerchief is taught to be a practical wilderness item in the Scouting tradition. The neckerchief, unrolled, is designed to be the perfect size for use as a triangular bandage for first aid."

I'm sure I could go off on the lists of things you could do with one.. but think about it, the list is only limited by your imagination of what you could conjur with a chunk of fabric or length of rope. In roadkill, i'm sure this wound be the first thing I'd seek out. Check the links on the side for some cool resources and ideas for your Bandana, but for now, another story.

I was riding my motorcycle a few summers ago and as i was cruising along at near 60mph i felt this quick jerk on my belt like a ghost had rode up beside me and grabbed at my belt! I looked back as I regained control and there was this eerie blue mist that sort of followed me and drifted to the ground. I pulled over to make sure everything was right and found that my left handedness almost was my demise. There was a strange Blue tuft lacing in and out of my rear sprocket.

You see, I had a bandana with me..

HELLA handy for motorcycle riding:

But, where I put it was an issue, I had tucked it thru my belt on my left side (lefty!!) but on a motorcycle, unlike a bicycle, THAT's where the chain is!! So, my bandana had been whipping around in the wind and got caught in the chain, had I TIED the thing to my belt or looped it in a fashion that didn't eaily slip out, I could have been yanked clean off the bike with my ass being maniacally pulled into the rear wheel like a machine with one purpose of human destruction.

No matter how useful these can be, watch where you carry it!
