"1st Century Romans created the first folding pocket knife. They made for easy carrying for soldiers and other explorers on their journeys and conquests. They were especially popular in the American colonies. From farmers to lawyers, men from all walks of life started to carry them. The ultimate portable tool, the pocket knife was a useful aid in various tasks, including eating on the go." More...

Probably one of the most versatile tools in every arsenal ever carried. It was one of the first tools we hairless primates figured out how to utilize to make our lives a little easier on a day to day basis. Cut a rope? Open a sealed box? Or just need to straight out shank a bitch.. The Knife is your missing link between us and the tigers.

Theres thousands of styles and types of blades, but when the its down to the brass tacks, they all have one thing in common a sharp edge. Many have a special purpose. Some fold making them easier to carry, others rigid to maintain the strength needed to endure a serious situation. Some are better to throw then others, some are better for carving fruit. I've even seen some specifically designed just for morel mushroom picking.

I remember dad bought me my first knife at the old Pay N Pak that i think was where the isaacs napa is now (can't be sure) It was a dual blade folding pocket knife that had a plastic handle that was supposed to resemble bone (totally didnt) god knows where it is now, I remember the plastic sides coming off as the years of abuse took its toll. Since then i've collected a myriad of styles, shapes, sheaths, etc.. but the fact remains, I always carry one, and its never gone unused.
